Flavia Durach, PhD, is Associate Professor at the College of Communication and Public Relations, National University for Political Studies and Public Administration, Bucharest, and the academic coordinator  of the MA in Digital Communication and Innovation (taught in English). Her research interests include the study of media effects, with an emphasis on online disinformation, strategic communication, the role of the digital platforms, and EU attitudes. She is the author/ editor/ contributor in volumes published by Springer, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, IOS Press, Peter Lang, and author of numerous scientific articles. Additionally, Flavia is involved in science popularization through her position as analyst/collaborator for a number of national media outlets (online news, TV, and radio). In recent years, she was involved in a number of projects dedicated to media literacy and countering fake news: the Anti-fake Newsletter (funded by The Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation. A project of the German Marshall Fund), „Technology-driven resilience for countering anti NATO disinformation”, funded by NATO Public Diplomacy Programmes, ”YouCheck!” and “YouVerify!” (Grant procedure: Media Literacy for All, European Union). Since 2019, Flavia Durach is speaker for the international course Strategic Communication in the Context of Security and Defence, under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC).
