MA in Communication and EU Affairs

Available exclusively in English, the master program in Communication and EU Affairs (MCEA) offers a unique program in Romania, aiming to meet the requirements of contemporary Romanian society: training specialists in communication and European Affairs. Through the expertise in European institutions, policies and affairs and through the communication skills that they will acquire during the studies, its graduates are expected to contribute to the process of Romania’s europeanization, once integrated in the labor market.

The MCEA program is targeted at a wide audience interested in European issues in general and/or communication in the European context. Whether they are graduates of political science, European studies or communication, who are willing to specialize in their undergraduate field, or graduates of technical (Engineering) or applied programs (Economical Sciences) who wish to become acquainted with a new or related area, they will be offered training in one of the most dynamic fields.

Employment opportunities after graduating: Due to its interdisciplinary nature, the MA program in Communication and EU Affairs provides a wide range of employment opportunities. Graduates of the Master may become experts in European Affairs, a newly validated academic qualification in Romania, created thanks to a project carried out within the Faculty of Communication and Public Relations. Public administration (government, ministries, government agencies, European institutions etc.) and private organizations (communications agencies, European NGOs, media, companies specialized in public affairs and lobbying) are just two of the fields where future European entrepreneurs can provide and strengthen their expertise.

MA Profile: Master in Communication and European Affairs has a dual profile, in that it can provide training and expertise in both a vocational/professional field and in research. Students interested in becoming practitioners can turn to the broader concerns of European Affairs, which include areas such as public administration, diplomacy, political science or public communication for European programs and projects. This dimension of the Master is supported by the experience of its teachers, who are active in various areas of European affairs. Meanwhile, thanks to the close collaboration with laboratories and research centers in the field of European studies as well as the research experience of the teachers, the master provides training and development for students attracted by this aspect of academic life.

Courses: MCEA program has an important interdisciplinary component, answering some of its major goals: to familiarize students with key concepts in the fields of EU Affairs and communication and to form professional and research skills in European affairs. What students say about the MA program in Communication and European Affairs: "I chose this program because it is currently the only one in Romania that offers the possibility of accumulation and consolidation of professional skills in communication and European Affairs. I found here what I was looking for, i.e. a dynamic team, seriousness, modern ideas, and I already feel how this master's program has an impact in a positive way on my professional development, which I hope will help me in the future to embrace a career in the field "(EM).
